19.06.12 - Assistant Manager
We’re currently looking for an experienced assistant manager to join our team.
What we really need is someone who can lead and develop our front of house team, as well as improve our high standards in customer service further still.

Responsibilities
Your restaurant, in the absence of the General Manager (GM)
Helping the GM in the day to day running of the restaurant
Coaching and developing junior managers
Effective communication with the front of house team
Maintaining staff discipline and taking necessary action where appropriate
Ensuring staff appraisals and ongoing training are completed within the correct time frames
Taking an active role in training, ensuring all staff receive the required training, according to statutory and company procedures
Constantly seeking to improve the way the restaurant is run in both day to day and long term. How will you help?
Balancing the needs of the business with budgetary constraints
Maintaining, throughout the restaurant, company standards of food quality, hygiene, customer service and health and safety
Active promotion of the restaurant in the local area through marketing that is agreed by operations
Taking an active role in the way back of house is run and the quality standards it is achieving
Adopting a sense of greater responsible and seeking to rectify areas that require improvement
Creating a cohesive team spirit while on shift, ensuring front of house and back of house work beautifully together

An understanding of health and safety and food hygiene processes and law
Previous experience at a supervisory level
Previous experience within a catering environment
Preferred
Basic knowledge of computer skills
Knowledge of the weekly accounts and wages
An understanding of trial balances and profit and loss accounts and how to increase profitability
Planning and organisational skills
